I’m currently rereading my favorite RPG in gaiaonline. The RP was based on Gakuen Alice, a manga written by Higuchi Tachibana. It was founded by Cheyenne (Lacy) way back in July 2009. I was intrigued about this particular game, where you make your own character and you play as if it was you. Unlike RPGs like Ragnarok, Sims or other online games we are familiar with, RPGs in forums require the player to post what his/her character is doing. You also interact with other players by way of words, sentences and paragraphs. So if I’m going to say that Rylle, my character, is sleeping when another player’s character poked her, it’ll be like this:

Rylle was silently dreaming on her bed when she was jolted awake by Emiko, who was poking her arm repeatedly.

It’s fun, and sometimes it gets addicting too. :D From this Gakuen Alice RP, I met Lacy/Cheyenne and Ashleigh and others too, but they left early. We’ve been RPing (role-playing) for 3 or maybe 4 years(?) now. Of course, there are a lot of posting delays, tons of procrastination posts by ash, and a long period of no posting because everybody was busy, especially me. There are also time issues because they are both on North America while I’m from the Philippines. The good thing is that we play with words and posts, so being online at the same time is not necessary, although sometimes it’s better if we do get online at the same time (which means they have to be awake at dawn to catch me online or I have to skip my classes in the morning to catch them online).

The RP has been dead several times but we keep going back to resurrect it. Several times we come back because we miss our characters, or just that we miss RPing with each other.

P.S. I suck at the beginning of the RP because that was the beginning of my role-playing days.
